Application for free or reduced lunches for CMS students now open

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg School students can apply for free or lower priced lunches starting August 1.

The application will now be online after the federal waivers put into place during the pandemic ended. To find out if your student qualifies for this, you can submit the application with School Nutrition Services.

CMS has 68 schools that are involved with the Community Eligibility Provision. All the students at these schools get free lunch automatically.

If your child does not attend a CEP school, you can still apply. Submitted applications may lead to discounted fees for college applications, athletics, and standardized testing for students.

To apply, click here. And for more information, call the CMS Media Line at 980-343-6243.
