CHARLOTTE — Charlotte fire crews responded to three structure fires, caused by lightning, across the city overnight.
The fires occurred within the midnight hour at locations including Sugar Hollow Drive, Abendego Road and Tremaine Court.

A call came in at 12:51 a.m. for the Tremaine Court fire, and when crews got there, they saw flames along the roofline.
The fire department released body cam footage of crews cutting a hole in the roof to allow ventilation.
The fire was controlled in 40 minutes.
Thirty Charlotte firefighters worked to control another fire on Sugar Hollow Drive, which they brought under control in 50 minutes.
Another fire on Abendego Road also saw a response from 30 Charlotte firefighters, who controlled it in under 30 minutes.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters at the three fires.
The Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force is leading the efforts to determine what sparked the incidents.
