Cooking up team chemistry: Panthers benefit from backyard BBQs with local chef

CHARLOTTE — You can’t rush good barbecue for Jack Arnold. It’s the wait that fuels his love for mouthwatering food.

Arnold has built a massive following on Instagram, cooking for celebrities, athletes and even former President George W. Bush. But Channel 9′s Phil Orban learned the that first person to reach out to Arnold was a member of the Carolina Panthers.

“A connected team is a team that’s going to go a lot of places and I feel like we got to breed that with the dinners always. Jack comes and brings a lot of energy into the room so its always a good time,” Panthers player Ikem Ekwonu said.

>> In the video at the top of the page, Channel 9′s Phil Orban explains how a DM turned into backyard barbecue, which has evolved into frequent dinner with Panthers teammates, hosted by Taylor Motion, with Arnold on the grill.
