Local brewery’s latest taproom set to debut after long delays

CHARLOTTE — Legion Brewing’s newest taproom and beer garden will open next month after extended supply-chain delays.

That 25,000-square-foot facility — the third Legion taproom in Charlotte — welcomes its first craft-beer fans on May 2.

It is at 2014 W. Morehead St. in the area known as FreeMoreWest. It is part of the Salt + Vinegar adaptive-reuse project, named for a former potato chip factory located there.

“The entire Legion team has been looking forward to this day for a while,” says Phil Buchy, owner and CEO.

Legion has invested approximately $10 million into its space.
