Local father creates phone app to help parents keep organized

CHARLOTTE — A local father has created an phone app to help people solve a problem that many struggle with.

Pete Larsen is South Mecklenburg High School graduate, UNC Charlotte alumni, Colonel in the Air Force, and teacher who is also working to get his P.H.D.

Larsen recently added “app developer” to the list. He created “Whensit,” an app designed to help parents keep up with their children’s schedules.

“It was a challenge and an opportunity,” Larsen told Channel 9′s Anthony Kustura.

Larsen worked on the app on the weekends for the last year.

“The idea for the app was out of frustration of realizing how much time I had spent over the years of digging on the internet,” Larsen said.

Larsen said he needed a tool like his new app when he missed a college application deadline for his son.

Whensit stores and stores all types of calendars, ranging from social events to critical dates for school districts.
