CHARLOTTE — Chef Paul Verica has no regrets.
The Stanley will close in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood on May 13 after a nearly four-year run.

That move comes after Verica was approached about selling the 2,800-square-foot restaurant. It’s located at the corner of Seventh Street and Pecan Avenue.
He says it just seemed like the right time to walk away, both personally and professionally. Verica — who turns 50 this year — says the industry has taken a toll on him, physically, mentally and emotionally.
“I’m not getting any younger,” he says. “What better way than to walk out on top. I’ve accomplished more than I ever dreamed I would. I have no regrets.”
Verica confirms the restaurant’s lease and assets have been sold
