Matthews police make arrest in arcade shooting

CHARLOTTE — The Matthews Police Department has found the man accused of shooting another man in Matthews Saturday morning.

Around 6 a.m. on Saturday, police said they responded to a call at the City Arcade on East Independence Boulevard for a reported shooting.

At the scene, police learned that a man had been shot by another man after an argument. The suspect has been identified as Andre Pittman. He was taken into custody and charged with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and other charges.

Witnesses said they took the victim to the hospital before officers arrived.

The suspect was last seen leaving in a dark-colored Ford crew cab pickup truck with a bed cover and large tires.
