New businesses coming to former EpiCentre

CHARLOTTE — The company that is redeveloping the former EpiCentre in Uptown has landed four new tenants.

CBRE announced it is adding Portal 123, Nostalgia Hollow Co., Cajun Market and Super Icy Brothers to the lineup at the newly branded Queen City Quarter at 210 E. Trade St.

Portal 123 is described as “a rotating Instagram museum and immersive art experience.” The museum was originally located at 114 South Tryon St. and closed during the pandemic. It is anticipated to reopen in Suite B-126 at Queen City Quarter in the second quarter of this year.

Nostalgia Hollow Co. is a local coffee and home goods shop. This will be Nostalgia’s second location in Charlotte and the coffee shop plans to open at Suite A-104 in the third quarter.

Cajun Market is a fast-casual Cajun-Creole restaurant that leased 1,270 sq. ft. in Suite B-124. This will be the restaurant’s second location with plans to open in the second quarter.

Super Icy Brothers is a frozen dessert shop that operates two other locations in Carolina Place and Northlake Mall. The shop plans to open in Suite B-210 by the third quarter.

CBRE has also renewed several existing tenants including World of Beer, Mortimer’s Café & Pub, and Bowlero. It says several other retail deals are in negotiations.

In addition to the leases, CBRE will begin the previously announced renovations and improvements to the Uptown property in late spring. Most of the work will be in Queen City Quarter’s 15,462-square foot plaza and include replacing the pavers along the walkways and installing benches with planters in the main common area. The building’s interior facades and exterior staircases will also be repaired where needed, and the entire building will be painted.
