CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Changes are coming to the Bank of America Stadium’s playing field.
The Panthers’ home field will no longer be grass but is switching to artificial turf.
More than 5,000 tons of grass and topsoil will be moved from the field and spread across 6 parks in Mecklenburg County.
“I think its awesome,” said Panthers head groundskeeper Tom Vaughan. “I ride by fields every day and I can’t think of a better use for it, I mean what would be a better purpose than kids enjoying it... That’s awesome.”
