Panthers’ failed HQ site pitched as major mixed-use opportunity

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The firm tapped to market the site of the failed Carolina Panthers headquarters project in Rock Hill has released concept plans pitching the land as a major mixed-use opportunity.

The Charlotte Business Journal reported in August that Colliers International had been chosen by David Tepper-led GT Real Estate Holdings LLC to head marketing efforts for the site. Colliers has branded the site as Rock Hill Overlook, which spans over 240 acres. The brokerage is touting it as a potential home to a range of commercial uses, including office, multifamily residential and others.

Colliers enlisted ColeJenest & Stone/Bolton & Menk to help create two conceptual plans for the site. The plans seemingly capture a range of uses that Tepper and local leaders hoped would locate there to surround the Panthers headquarters. Colliers’ Lawrence Shaw and Rob Speir are leading the marketing efforts.

“What we did is we took a look at the long-range plan that the city has and we also looked at the current zoning, and we looked at how the property interacts with Riverwalk via Eden Terrace and how the property interacts with Manchester Meadows and the whole Dave Lyle Boulevard area,” Shaw said.
