Deneige Broom joined Channel 9 in January of 2022 as an Eyewitness News This Morning anchor. She came to Charlotte from WFTV in Orlando where she spent several years (over two stints) covering stories that shaped the community, such as the aftermath of the Pulse nightclub shooting and the trial of George Zimmerman. She also anchored and reported at Fox26 in Houston, helping people navigate major events like Harvey’s historic flooding, the deaths of George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara, and the Santa Fe High School shooting. She spent the first four years of her career covering the Tallahassee market at WCTV. Deneige is from Orlando and a proud Florida State Seminole. She lived in Madrid, Spain for a year, where she taught English and learned to speak fluent Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys exploring cities big and small, finding great places to eat, and Latin dancing.
