CHARLOTTE — Cable network Golf Channel has turned to a Charlotte sports marketing and media agency to create and produce the network’s morning show beginning next month.
Signature Sports Group’s four-year-old golf division, 5 Clubs Golf, will produce “5 Clubs on Golf Channel,” a one-hour talk show airing Monday through Wednesday at 8 a.m. Gary Williams is the host; he joined 5 Clubs in 2021. Before that, Williams hosted Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” weekday talk show from 2011 to 2020, when it was canceled.
The new show debuts Jan. 6 on Golf Channel and will be simulcast on SiriusXM satellite radio.
The Golf Channel show will be based out of the Charlotte studio and production hub owned by Marty Snider & Associates Inc., whose namesake is a longtime NBC Sports reporter. The Snider-owned studio has been home base for 5 Clubs podcasts hosted by Williams and others since 5 Clubs’ inception.
