SALISBURY, N.C. — Get ready for an afternoon filled with family-friendly activities, arts and crafts, and Cheerwine-inspired food and drinks at the annual Cheerwine Festival this spring.

The festival will return to Cheerwine’s hometown of Salisbury on Saturday, May 17, event organizers announced on Tuesday.

Since its debut in 2017 to celebrate the iconic soft drink’s 100th anniversary, the festival has become a springtime tradition and cornerstone event for Salisbury. Organizers say they welcomed over 100,000 guests from across the Southeast last year and expanded the festival’s footprint to accommodate its growing attendance.

“We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Cheerwine’s birthplace for a day full of great entertainment, delicious food and family fun,” Joy Ritchie Harper, vice president of marketing for Cheerwine and fifth-generation founding family member, said in a news release. “There’s nothing better than seeing our community come together, and we can’t wait to celebrate with old friends and new faces while sharing the unique charm and hospitality that makes Salisbury so special.”

The festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The music lineup and additional event details will be announced later.

Vendor applications for food, beverages, and crafts are now open at cheerwinefest.com. Merchants have until Feb. 7 to submit their applications.
