Two arrested in connection with homicide in south Charlotte, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE — Two people have been arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred in south Charlotte.

On Thursday, police were investigating a death on Farmhurst Drive. That street has an apartment complex and runs off Nations Ford Road near Interstate 77.

Police said they were alerted about the case around 2:10 p.m., but the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m.

Investigators said the victim died from “unknown trauma” but didn’t provide any further information.

That victim was later identified as 32-year-old Jonathan Dockery.

On Friday, police arrested 40-year-old Tadarian Neal and 40-year-old Asia Tapp in connection with this case.

Both suspects have been charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

They have been transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

CMPD said the investigation into this death is still active and ongoing.
