CMPD needs your help finding SUV involved in deadly-hit-and

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for help to find a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run that happened early on Dec. 9 in north Charlotte.

Wanda Rena Sheppard, 53, was struck and killed at about 2:15 a.m. on North Caldwell Street near Optimist Hall.

Police are looking for a 2011-17 Nissan Juke last seen driving from the scene eastbound on Central Avenue near Hawthorne Lane.

The subcompact SUV may have damage to the front or right area of the bumper and may have a broken front windshield.

Police are asking anyone with information on the deadly crash to call 704-432-2169.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.
