Motorcyclist killed in east Charlotte crash, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE — A 37-year-old motorcyclist was killed and the driver of a Nissan was hurt in a crash Wednesday afternoon in east Charlotte, police said.

It happened on the 8800 block of Albemarle Road at about 5:35 p.m.

The Nissan had damage to its front right passenger side and the motorcycle was found damaged in the eastbound lanes near Circumferential Road.

Near the motorcycle, Jonathan Dee Davis, was lying in the road where he was pronounced deceased, CMPD said on Thursday.

MEDIC transported the driver of the Nissan to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash investigation is ongoing.
