DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man is facing charges for trying to join ISIS.
According to federal court records, Alexander White – who goes by Sulaiman Al-Amriki – started posting on Facebook in May of last year, sharing his support of ISIS.
The 29-year-old man allegedly openly shared his desire to join ISIS even making plans to travel to Morocco to do that.
Records state in September, White messaged an undercover FBI agent sharing his excitement and a screenshot of his travel itinerary.
He was arrested by FBI agents at Raleigh-Durham International Airport last month after he cleared the gate and attempted to board the airplane.
