CHARLOTTE — A two-alarm fire destroyed a daycare under construction Monday morning near Interstate 485 and the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg County line.
Chopper 9 SkyZoom was over what was left of the building in a construction site located near an apartment complex along Rocky River Road in Harrisburg.
About 61 firefighters responded to what was going to be an Everbrook Academy daycare.
Construction workers managed to escape and no injuries were reported.

The Harrisburg Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
