KERSHAW, S.C. — A man in South Carolina was sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing his partner two years ago in Kershaw.
Court records say Hurley D. Braddy pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to prison this week.
Braddy was arrested in December of 2022 after four children ran to a neighbor’s home on West 3rd Street and said that their father shot their mother.
Deputies went to the home and found the victim dead on the floor in a bedroom.
None of the children were hurt, including a one-year-old child who was sitting in a high chair in the kitchen when deputies arrived.
Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile called the killing a “horrific act of violence in the presence of these children.”
Braddy was also convicted of a gun charge.
