NC advocates urging federal employees not to accept buyouts from President Trump

RALEIGH, N.C. — Some advocates in North Carolina are urging federal employees not to accept the buyout from President Donald Trump’s administration.

Thomas Link is the president of the North Carolina Active and Retired Federal Employee Association.

He also advocates for current and former federal workers, according to reports from WTVD.

Link said he does not want people to take the buyouts because it does not include enough information.

“We don’t know how that affects people’s retirements. We don’t know how it affects people’s health insurance plans. We don’t know. There are no details,” Link elaborated.

Link also said he is concerned that Congress has not approved the funding for the buyouts.

He told WTVD that his group believes this is unconstitutional and they will take legal action.

He recommended federal employees reach out to elected leaders if they have concerns.
