Charlotte FC tops scoreless Philadelphia Union with four goals

CHARLOTTE — The Philadelphia Union fell 4-0 to Charlotte FC on Saturday. At the time of the match, Charlotte was ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Daniel Rios scored a hat trick, which is the first in the club’s history. Rios then went on to score four goals total.

Goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina sustained a finger injury in pre-match warmups and was replaced in the Starting XI by Pablo Sisniega. George Marks was also added to the substitute bench.

This match was the second time these teams had squared off this season. The Union won the last meeting 2-0.

The game was the final weekend home match of Charlotte FC’s inaugural season. In celebration, Charlotte FC and Ally gave all fans who attended a t-shirt as part of a stadium blackout.

“All fans will receive a t-shirt at their seat as we look to blackout the stadium and support our team to victory,” Ally announced.
