NOW PLAYING ABOVE

CONCORD, N.C. — Police are working to find out who shot into a house and hit two people in Concord overnight Sunday.

Officers with the Concord Police Department said the double shooting happened just after midnight in the 300 block of Graham Drive Southwest.

One neighbor, who lives near the crime, didn’t want to share his name or go on camera but told Channel 9′s Eli Brand he dove to the ground as soon as the bullets rang out.

“We were in the crib talking and next thing you know, there was just a bunch of shots going off. Just loud, fast, quick,” he said. “I didn’t know where the shots was coming from. Bullets don’t got no names and they can go anywhere.”

At the home itself, our Channel 9 crew said the bullets seemed to be focused on two windows right next to one another.

One window appeared to have multiple distinct bullet holes and a large opening. The other showed bullet holes going into the window itself, as well as the frame.

The neighbor who spoke with Channel 9 said he didn’t know the victims but noted the police response was large.

“The police pull up, they tape the road off – ambulance truck comes by and then two people come out of the house in a stretcher,” he said.

Our Channel 9 crew went to the home where the shots were fired to see if anyone was there, but no one came to the door.

The neighbor we spoke with said violence like this in the area is unusual: “This is like a one-time thing, for real.”

While at the house Monday morning, Channel 9 saw multiple officers with Concord Police and deputies with the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office patrolling the area.

Concord Police said the two victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police are asking for information from the public to help find the shooter.
