CHARLOTTE — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating a death in west Charlotte, according to an CMPD alert on X.
Shortly after 1 p.m., officers responded to a call for a welfare check in the 4400 block of Golf Acres Drive.
CMPD told Channel 9 at the scene that they found a body underwater in the nearby creek.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not said whether the death was suspicious.
