As summer approaches the Carolinas, so do longer days and warmer temps

We’re quickly approaching the time of year with late sunsets and early sunrises.

Over the next three weeks, we’ll also start enjoying our longest days of the year, with June 21 being the longest.

The sun sets at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday, but by June 21, it will go down at 8:41 p.m.

As the days get longer, the temperatures will continue to rise. Our average high will increase to 88 degrees by the longest day of the year. The average low will increase to 68 degrees.

Obviously it’ll get warmer, but it will also grow considerably more muggy.

Bottom line -- summertime is knocking on the door.
