COLUMBIA, S.C. — The man accused of killing a 22-year-old woman from Waxhaw is expected faced a judge on Tuesday.
We told you last week when Logan Federico was killed while she was staying the night with friends in Columbia.
Police say Alexander Dickey broke in, shot Logan Federico in the chest, stole her wallet, and then went on a shopping spree.
" She needs justice. She needs swift justice," said her father, Stephen Federico.
Logan Federico graduated from Marvin Ridge High School and worked at the Carolina Steel Sports Bar in Ballantyne.
“Logan was this vibrant person who had a zest for life, like no other that I’ve seen,” her father said. “She had a mind of her own. She was willing to fight for the underdog.”
Dickey was caught and charged with murder and burglary.
Dickey avoided eye contact while in court. The judge read his charges and did not set a bond.
“Time to go back to jail,” the suspect said on his way out of the courtroom.
Stephen Federico watched Dickey in the courtroom.
“When he first walked in, I got very emotional and then my daughter’s face set in front of my eyes,” he said. “My wife, Melissa, grabbed me and we said, ‘It’s Logan Strong’. Representing her professionally with integrity, and making sure no stone is left unturned.”
The family asked that prosecutors seek the death penalty in this case.
Her family is raising money for her funeral, and you can help at this link.
