CHARLOTTE — One of Hollywood’s most popular stars is coming to the Queen City soon.
The movie “Roofman” starring Channing Tatum is set to be filmed in Charlotte from October through December and locals are needed as background actors.
The Cast Station is looking for females ages 6-20 and 25-65 and males ages 25-65. Some of the types of people directors are looking for include current and former police officers, security guards, delivery drivers, attorneys, pastors and church members.

According to Deadline.com , “Roofman” is a true crime movie that will be directed by Derek Cianfrance who created the HBO series “I Know This Much Is True.”
The film is based on the story of serial robber Jeffrey Manchester, who broke into more than 60 McDonald’s overnight by entering through their roofs. Manchester became known as the “Rooftop Robber” or “Roofman.” He was convicted and sent to prison in 2000 but escaped. He evaded police by hiding for months in a Toys R Us and Circuit City store in Charlotte where he lived off baby food. He was eventually caught and sent back to prison.

One of the main characters, Nathan Scott, eventually plays for the Charlotte Bobcats in the fictional universe. South Park, Season 20, Episode 1 In the 20th season opener of South Park, the Carolina Panthers are shown during a bit making fun of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles joining the Panthers. Saturday Night Live (2021) This SNL sketch poked light fun at Charlotte in 2021 by imitating LaVar Ball, father of LaMelo Ball. He called Charlotte the "regional bacon capital of the world," a play on "banking," and the "Gateway to Gastonia.

The books mostly take place in Charlotte and has plenty of references to restaurants, streets and neighborhoods. A Murder in Concord (2009), Caleb Wygal As the title implies, this book is set in Concord, following one of North Carolina's richest families. The Hunger Games (2012) The Hunger Games was entirely filmed in North Carolina with many scenes shot in Charlotte, Shelby and Concord.
The scene pictured here was filmed at the Knights Theater. Other film locations include the Philip Morris Cabarrus Plant and the Charlotte Convention Center. Amelie's French Bakery provided the sweets for a train scene. Two by Two (2016), Nicholas Sparks Set in Charlotte, Two by Two is about a father who loses everything in his life based on circumstances within and beyond his control. Most of Sparks' books are set in North Carolina, and he lives in New Bern. Civilization (1991) The box art for this video game features an past version of the Charlotte skyline. Talladega Nights (2006) The NASCAR film was filmed in Concord at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and Lake Norman. The house pictured here was Ricky Bobby's home, which recently hit the market for nearly $10 million in Lake Norman. Heavyweights (1995) A counselor in the comedy movie wears a cropped Carolina Panthers shirt. It was filmed in the Hendersonville area. Logan Lucky (2017) The film about robbing the Charlotte Motor Speedway was, of course, filmed at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Masterminds (2016) Masterminds is about the 1997 Loomis Fargo Heist in Charlotte. Mostly filmed in Asheville, the movie doesn't show much of the Queen City, but the "Wanted" flyer explains how he is wanted for larceny in Charlotte. War Room (2015) War Room was filmed in Charlotte. In this scene, you can see the angled structures of the Truist Building in the background view.
