CHARLOTTE — A distressed Uptown office tower will be sold at public auction in January, following foreclosure proceeding approval in Mecklenburg County Superior Court.

400 South Tryon, a 32-story, 587,000-square-foot building, will be listed for public auction on Jan. 10, according to a notice of sale filed with the court on Dec. 16. The auction will take place at 10:01 a.m. on the first floor of the Mecklenburg County Courthouse at 832 E. Fourth St.

The property is being sold “as is, where is,” and the auction will be held open for 10 days to allow for upset bids. The winning bidder may be immediately required to pay a cash deposit of up to 10% of the total bid.
