VIDEO: Woman wins $250K lottery prize, celebrates at local gas station

FORT MILL, S.C. — Winning a big chunk of change in the lottery is a dream for many but last week that dream became a reality for a woman who bought a scratch-off ticket at the RunX gas station in Fort Mill.

The lucky winner celebrated her $250,000 winnings in the gas station, and it was caught on video.

In that footage, the woman jumps for joy before hugging a man off-screen.

She then hugs another woman walking through the door before falling to her knees in celebration.

The owner said the winner is a regular and has been back since winning.

He said she plays multiple lottery games a week.

That owner said it feels even better knowing it was a regular customer who won.

“I’m glad it was her,” the gas station owner said. “I see her every day and I’m glad to see her finally win something big.”

The owner said it has been “life-changing” for her too.

“So, she’s been taking it easy with the scratch-offs, but she’s been playing her regular numbers and hopefully she gets one more,” he said.

The owner said the woman cashed that ticket at the lottery headquarters in Columbia.

He said his store will get a big sign from the lottery commission saying a winning ticket was bought there, so he can hopefully sell more.
