CHARLOTTE — From holiday shows and attractions to cheering on the home teams, here’s what’s happening around Charlotte this weekend.

See an enchanting display of gingerbread creations at Gingerbread Lane, which is open at the Ballantyne Hotel through Dec. 28. All donations benefit Levine Children’s Hospital.
Other holiday attractions open this weekend include Light the Knights at Truist Field in Uptown, Speedway Christmas at Charlotte Motor Speedway, WinterFest at Carowinds, Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular at Ballantyne’s Backyard, Christmas at the Library at the Billy Graham Library, Holidays at the Garden at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, and the Celebration of Lights and Winterland Express at Village Park in Kannapolis.
Shop for last-minute gifts while supporting small businesses at the Front Porch Sunday Night Market at Atherton on Friday (it’s not Sunday this time!). It’s also the last weekend to shop at the Christmas Market at Olde Meck Brewery in LoSo and Ballantyne, which is open Friday through Sunday.
Watch as aerialists soar above the orchestra as it plays your favorite holiday music at Charlotte Symphony’s Cirque De Noel. Performances run through Sunday at Knight Theater in Uptown.
See a festive flurry of acrobatics set to a soundtrack of re-invented Christmas favorites at Twas the Night Before… by Cirque du Soleil. The show opens Friday at Ovens Auditorium and runs through Jan. 4.
Grab your Bluetooth speaker and join others for a stroll through Camp North End to create a unique mobile sound sculpture during Unsilent Night on Friday.
Expect unexpected spells and funny holiday hijinks with your favorite characters at the Harry Potter-themed “A Very Harry Christmas Holiday Improv Comedy Special” at CATCh on Friday and Saturday.
Head to Blythe Landing, Ramsey Creek Park, or the Duke Energy Explorium on Saturday to watch the 6th annual Lake Norman Lighted Christmas Boat Parade.
Enjoy holiday music and shopping, a kids zone and other family-friendly activities at the North Carolina Christmas Festival on Saturday at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center.
Grab your cowbell and check out the Charlotte Checkers when they take on the Bridgeport Islanders at Bojangles Coliseum on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, fans will have a chance to get a photo of the NHL’s Stanley Cup.
