FORECAST:
- There is a low chance of showers for the Charlotte area late Friday.
- This is because of a cold front that will bring chilly temperatures in time for the weekend.
- There is a winter weather advisory for the mountains until 1 p.m. Saturday.
- Snow showers could bring up 3 to 4 inches of snow to the highest elevations.
- The rest of our coverage area will stay dry, clear, and cold.
- Morning lows will be in the 20s on Sunday morning with highs in the 40s.
- We will stay dry until Christmas and Boxing Day when rain chances return.
- The travel days after Christmas could be messy but we’ll keep a close eye on conditions.
