Expect lane closures on I-277 during massive bridge-repair project

CHARLOTTE — There will be lane closures on Interstate 277 starting Tuesday night as part of a $26 million project to improve bridges along the loop between Tenth Street and Interstate 77, which is about 1.3 miles.

Crews are starting single and double lane closures on the inner loop of the Brookshire Freeway from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Thursday, said the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Officials will examine bridges and make the necessary repairs.

Crews start working on the outer loop starting Monday night and lasting through April 22.
