Dan Matics joined WSOC-TV as an anchor/reporter in September of 2022. Before coming to Charlotte, he spent six years at the FOX-owned station in Tampa, Florida as a reporter. His most memorable stories include covering hurricanes and tornadoes, the Tampa Seminole Heights serial killer, a chemical spill that contaminated the drinking water for 300,00 people and exposing the negligence of a Southern West Virginia health clinic that infected patients by reusing needles. When he’s not working – he loves boating, golfing, skiing, and exploring restaurants.
